Central Utah’s 275-mile long Paiute ATV Trail, part of which falls in Millard County, is a loop trail with no beginning and no end! It passes through several towns and has side trails leading to others. Dirt Wheels magazine rates the Paiute ATV Trail as one of the 15 best trails in the country. It has been rated as one of the top five trails in the country by ATV Illustrated magazine. Many riders consider the Paiute Trail to be the top in the United States.
There are four excellent ATV trail systems on public land in our western desert. They climb rugged mountains, cross deep canyons and ascend juniper-covered hillsides.
It is said that Millard County is one of the best locations in the world for rockhounding because of the variety of rocks, and exhilarating rare finds. From precious gems to ancient fossils, much can be found in our West Desert country. You never know what mysteries you will find underground.

Campgrounds throughout Millard County are beautiful and many in number. In the Fishlake National Forest, campgrounds are lush and green. In the desert, camping is rugged and fierce. Pick your adventure.

Horses are very popular in this area. Many residents have horses, and many visitors bring horses to ride in our wide-open country. It is common to see people riding along roadways, even within towns, through the fields surrounding towns and in the nearby mountains and desert.
One of the finest bodies of water for skiing or boating is only minutes from Delta at Gunnison Bend Reservoir. The public park features a boat dock, shady picnic tables, a covered pavilion and restrooms. DMAD Reservoir, also in Delta, offers fishing. Three locations of Hot Springs bring warm winter memories.
If speed, cars sliding, dirt slinging, crashes and loud noise get your adrenaline pumping, then Millard County Raceway (MCR) is the place to be. MCR has grown into one of the best race tracks in the Intermountain region, and attracts racers from six different states to compete throughout the season.

With its wide open spaces and varied terrain, Millard County is a wonderful spot for geocaching. Many enthusiasts have made caches here, and others have enjoyed searching and finding them.
The Sevier River and its reservoirs provide good fishing for walleye, catfish and carp. Some perch, bluegill, white bass and other fish species may also be caught occasionally.
Hunting is very popular among residents and visitors to Millard County. Some of Utah’s best big game hunting units are found in this area, offering the opportunity for trophy hunts. There’s also plenty of opportunity for casual hunters and family groups.
