Snake Valley Festival

  • Snake Valley Festival

The Snake Valley Festival is held in Baker, Nevada and often occurs in June. Lots of family friendly events are held throughout the weekend, such as an ice cream social, parade, yard sale, kids’ games, booths, cowboy poetry, breakfast, barbecue dinner, karaoke, and a trail run/walk. Other events may include wine tasting party, silent and live auctions, and music. The Snake Valley Festival may coincide with the Astronomy Festival held at Great Basin National Park, and participants will be able to attend programs at both festivals.

The Snake Valley Festival may provide funds to protect rural Nevada’s water and way of life. Proceeds in the past have gone to the Great Basin Water Network to cover legal expenses, expert witnesses, and studies about the Great Basin area.

Festival organizers welcome additional booths for the festival, donations for both the live and silent auctions; clean used items in good condition for the yard sale; and books and CDs for the book sale. Organizers accept creative parade entries. The parade route is short so this allows time for skits and other entertainment. Volunteers are also welcome for the trail run/walk to help with timing and aid stations, as well as volunteers to help with general set up and clean up of festival activities.
